The newest poker pro to sign with an online poker room is twenty four year old Matt “Plattsburgh” Vengrin. Matt recently signed with Absolute Poker as one of their sponsored pros and will be representing the online poker room at live events as well as during online poker events.
Before signing his deal with Absolute Poker, Matt was associated with Full Tilt Poker. Matt commented on his new deal stating: “I am honored and humbled that I was chosen to help represent Absolute Poker. I believe in the brand and look forward to a long term relationship working side by side with the management team.”
Matt has won over $1.5 million in both online and live tournament play. Matt is a regular on the tournament circuit and two of his largest wins came from World Series of Poker final table appearances. Matt earned a third place finish at last year’s $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event taking home $167,973. Matt has earned several six figure pay days from live events as well as online including the 2007 FTOPS $300 re-buy event.
His most recent live earnings came from event number nine of the 2009 Aussie Millions. Matt earned almost $10,000 for that win. Matt is also one of the owners of the PlayerGPS website. This website is an online poker player tracking system.
Poker fans and players can compete against Matt at AbsolutePoker under the name mattvengrin. Players can search for Matt by using the Absolute Buddy software at www.AbsolutePoker.com. The software will find where Matt is seated and then players can join him in the fun online and possibly win some money from the poker pro.
