Full Tilt Poker Sunday Tournaments See Increase in Guaranteed Prize Pools
Monday, June 1st, 2009 by admin
This past Sunday Full Tilt Poker saw really good turnouts at their $750K guaranteed and $350K guaranteed tournaments. So many players showed up that both tournaments had huge increases in their prize pools, which I’m sure all the players were really excited about.
In The Sunday Brawl, 2,089 players posted the $240 plus 16 to compete in the $350K guaranteed tournament which boosted the prize pool to $417,800. Two hundred and thirty four places were paid with first place earning a nice $85,210.
The final table saw all nine players in playing hard to gain position for the first place prize but in the end it would be orajel and Coach9118 competing in heads up play. Coach9118 would have luck on his side and knock out orajel to gain the first place prize of just over $85,000.
FullTilt Poker Final Results:
Coach9118 – $85,210
orajel – $55,150
SYRACUSE CHRIS – $40,944
Dantes_11 – $30,917
mcplaermo – $21,726
scatterbrain123 – $14,025
Claudius2 – $9,609
masp797 – $6,685
Ramon_W – $5,014
The $750K guaranteed saw even more players and a much higher increase to their guaranteed prize pool. 4,002 players entered the $200 plus 16 buy-in tournament which raised the $750K guaranteed prize pool to $800,400.
Of all many thousands of players competing, it finally got down to heads up play between online players gregior and phounder. Phounder found himself with the chip lead and used that advantage to take the first place prize away from gregior.
Final Results:
phounder – $141,343
gregior – $85,563
mob6kid – $56,028
BIGBLOPPER01 – $44,022
Gator93 – $33,057
NotLikeley – $24,492
Tarsis – $18,409
bearbuck – $14,407
mapletrees22 – $10,725
It will be interesting to see if next week’s prize pools will increase as well as the 2009 WSOP gets deeper in play as well as with the continued play at Titan Poker’s ECOOP IV.
