A new champion of poker will be crowned shortly. Jamie Gold of bodogpoker holds the lead with over $27M in chips and the closest competition is Allen Cunningham of Fulltilt Poker with almost $17M in poker chips.
This year’s WSOP Main Event has broken several records with over 8,000 players registering and a first place prize of over $12M.
The story of the day has been the meteoric rise through the field of 2005 WSOP player of the year, and the only big-name pro left in the field, Allen Cunningham. He has taken no prisoners today moving into second place overall currently with 16,850,000 chips.
