Annette Obrestad Joins Lock PokerFriday, April 27th, 2012 by Ryan
Well look at Lock Poker go ladies and gentleman. This online poker site just continues to grow and continues to get their name out there in a great way. They are back in the news once again for something pretty exciting, as the rapidly growing site has added one of the most well-known poker players in the world to their already strong professional roster called Lock Pro Elite. The newest addition is Annette “Annette_15″ Obrestad, and the signing comes just after it was announced that she signed a deal to work with the massive poker rep company, Poker Royalty. It seems that this new relationship with the company was a big part of her signing on with Lock Poker, which should be an excellent move.
The CEO of Lock Poker was one of many people who is incredibly excited about the addition of Obrestad to the team, stating that she “takes Lock to the next level”, and also that the site intends to “integrate her into all aspects of the company.” This is now the third online poker site that Obrestad has been with, as she was originally with Betfair, and then made the move to the massive online poker site Full Tilt Poker back in May 2010, before being left without a site after Full Tilt ended up stuck in the midst of their serious legal troubles.
Obrestad is incredibly excited about the pairing herself, stating that she had heard “amazing things about Lock Poker from all my friends and pros who play there”. She also talked about being excited to work with the strong team of professional players who are already on the site as well, which does include some big names such as Chris Moorman, Eric “Rizen” Lynch, Leo Margets, Melanie Weisner, and Kevin Vandersmissen just to name a few.
The story behind Obrestad is one that is talked about quite often, as she began playing when she was only 15 years old by playing freerolls online. She built up her bankroll through these freerolls and then started playing at the higher limits online. She actually ended up playing an entire online poker tournament without even looking at her hole cards as well, and ended up winning the tournament in the end! When she finally turned 18 she played in many of the different casinos out there and began getting better and better. She is also the youngest player to ever win a World Series of Poker gold bracelet, when she won the WSOP Europe Main Event, which sent her home with an incredible £1,000,000. She was not even 19 when she won this gold bracelet either, and her total live tournament earnings total up to an impressive $3,738,569.
The match of Obrestad and Lock Poker is one that should definitely be a great pairing. Lock Poker is definitely on the rise and you can assume that Obrestad wants to be with a site that has name recognition and also has strong games offered as well, which Lock Poker definitely does. Keep an eye out for her at the next few live poker tournaments as we could see her representing the Lock Poker logo somewhere on her for any live poker telecasts!
