Cake Poker hosts a weekly tournament at their online poker room for their players to participate in that guarantees a specific prize pool. These types of tournaments are very popular at major online poker rooms and Cake Poker is no exception. Cake Poker hosts a $100,000 guaranteed tournament each week on Sunday at 5pm ET.

Cake Poker offers this tournament each Sunday until the last Sunday of the month when they up the guarantee to $250,000. This past weekend was a $100,000 guaranteed tournament since October just started. The tournament has a buy-in of $150 plus 12 but players can earn their spot in the tournament via online qualifiers at Cake Poker. Daily cash or steps qualifiers start at just $4.
During this week’s tournament 896 players registered to participate which increased the prize pool by $34,400. The total prize pool up for grabs was $134,400 and one hundred and thirty spots were paid out during the tournament.

During this tournament the only players to earn a five figure pay day would be the top three, so everyone was trying to get to the top spots. Ten players would make the final table and when it got down to three handed play online players The Spewtard, Mennas Joint and owenhart were the only ones left.
The Spewtard would be the first one to go which left Mennas Joint and owenhart to compete in heads up play. it would not be long before owenhart would gain the chip lead and make his move. Mennas Joint went all in against owenhart but the cards were not in his favor. Owenhart would claim the win and the $27,149 first place prize.
