Weekends at online poker rooms are always the busiest as players are competing in the various guaranteed tournaments that online poker rooms have to offer. Many of the top online poker rooms offer large guaranteed tournaments for low buy-ins and one of those tournaments is offered at Cake Poker. This past weekend the $100k guaranteed tournament at Cake Poker was so popular that it saw a large increase in prize money.

The $100k guaranteed tournament has a buy-in of $150 plus 12, which is not too expensive for such a large guarantee. However if you cannot afford the buy-in, Cake Poker offers players the option of earning their seat in a qualifier. The $100k guaranteed tournament qualifiers take place throughout the week and offer up seats to the weekend tournament.
This past weekend’s tournament saw 982 players competing. With that many players competing, the tournament saw an increase of $47,300 which created a prize pool of $147,300. One hundred and thirty spots were paid during the tournament and the top finisher earned just under $30,000.

When final table play began it was down to ten players. Things quickly started moving and players were begin eliminated left and right until only two remained. Online player’s docsonfile and so_standard were the only two players left to compete for the top two prizes. Both wanted the top prize of course but there could only be one winner.
After gaining the final chip lead, docsonfile made a move that would win the tournament and the $29,755 first place prize. So_standard would have to settle for second place and the $20,976 second place prize.

Final Results:
docsonfile – $29,755
