The poker world is dynamic and proof of this is that a lot has happened lately in it. The monthly 300 Deepstack tournament was held, GUKPT will be making a stop at G Casino and Bicycle Casino will be playing host to a tournament for Cards4Kids, a charity for young people.

Deepstack 300 Gets Split 9 Ways

The monthly 300 Deepstack tournament, valued at £100,000 was held at the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club. The tournament had 337 participants. 122 players sat down at the tables on Day 1 and at the end of the event, only 25 players had chips left. The second half of Day 1 had 215 entries in the tournament. Only 46 made it to the next day’s event.

71 players returned to the tables on Day 2 with the knowledge that only 36 of them could win a cash prize. After this, many other players were eliminated and finally only 12 players remained. The players at first, attempted to broker a deal which was rejected by James O’Connor. They continued to play until they reached the final nine handed table. The players tried again to make a deal and this time all were promised £9,000. William Anderson won overall, as he had the most chips remaining. He took a big cash prize of £10,000.

Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Comes to Coventry

The GUKPT is making a stop at the G Casino, Ricoh Arena at Coventry during the fifth part of the 2011 circuit. The event will conclude on the 16th of October. It will consist of seven tournaments and a main event in which the buy-in will be £1,000 and an additional £70.

Rupert Elder, Toby Lewis, Roberto Romanello and Jeff Kimber all won cash prizes. In addition to the tournaments, G Casino is also hosting some satellite competitions. Interested players can qualify for future main events by using BlueSQ.

Bicycle Casino Hosts Charity Tournament

PAL or Police Activities League was founded in 2010 by the Bell Gardens Police Department to get funding for programs to improve the relationship between the community’s youth and police officers. To achieve this, PAL organizes and supervises sports and other educational activities for young people.

The members of PAL are volunteers from the Bell Gardens Police Department who are invested in the relationship building and hope for positive community relations. Due to the state of the economy, there has been a decrease in funds for the Bell Gardens Youth Boxing Club. This has put the program at risk. The boxing club is one of the main aspects of the PAL program and desperately needs funds to continue operating. To help raise the money, PAL has collaborated with several members of the Bell Gardens business community, including Bicycle Casinos.

Their contribution to the cause is the First Annual Cards 4 Kids Poker Classic fundraiser. The event will be held on November 3rd. It will be a Texas Hold’em event with a $10,000 cash prize.
