NBC will begin airing a new reality poker show in August called Face The Ace which will pit online qualifiers against poker pros in heads up play. Full Tilt Poker.net will be providing the online qualifiers as well as the Face The Ace website for the new show.

Face The Ace will be hosted by Steve Schirripa formerly of The Sopranos and will feature contestants facing off against poker pros. Each contestant will walk up to one of four smoked glass doors to choose the poker pro they will face. Once the door is chosen the pro will emerge from shadow and viewers as well as the contestant will be able to see which “Ace” they will “Face”.

If the player beats the pro then that player can move on to the next pro or take the money they have earned in the competition. If the player manages to beat three poker pros then that player will earn a cool $1 million.

Players can visit the FullTiltPoker.net website as well as the Face The Ace website to register for free qualifying tournaments to be a contestant on the show. The qualifiers are constantly running so online players will have many opportunities to earn a chance to be on the show.
The first episode will air on August 1st at 9:00 Pm and the network has picked up a run of seven episodes. If the show is popular the network has the option of ordering more shows. Jerry Petry the Vice President of NBC Universal TV commented on the new television show: “There’s nothing like it on the air right now. This will attract the core poker fans who watch it on our network but will also open it up to a new audience of people who like game shows and aren’t necessarily poker fans going in.”
