  • Inaugural PokerStars Baltic Festival Main Event Won by Thomas Partridge

The Inaugural PokerStars Baltic Festival Main Event concluded just a few days ago in Tallinn, Estonia and it was twenty four year old Thomas Partridge who outlasted the field of 307 players to win the top prize of $113,000.

Strangely enough, in the end Partridge found himself facing his good friend James Keys in heads up play. Keys was the person responsible for getting Partridge to enter the tournament in the first place. Partridge commented that he did not play in many live tournaments except some in Las Vegas and those did not go so well. But his friend had qualified and encouraged him to come along.
When heads up play began between Partridge and Keys, Partridge had the disadvantage as Keys held a two to one chip lead. But Partridge played aggressively and earned enough chips to take the lead. In the final hand Partridge got a flush so Key’s two pair was no good when the river came up flat. Keys would earn the second place finish and take home €48,505 as well as a January PokerStars Caribbean Adventure package worth $15,000.

For winning the inaugural tournament, Partridge won the first place prize of €76,750 ($113,000) and a PokerStars Caribbean Adventure package as well. Partridge commented on his win stating: “The heads-up at the end went pretty quickly. I had a good run of cards and got the momentum going. I’m very pleased with the way it went. Now I’m going to try to improve my game before going to the Bahamas. I don’t want to look too happy because my friend lost.”
