Online poker may be in a slowdown currently in the United States, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t players across the world who are picking up steam as of late though. Many players in the UK and many other countries around the world have had some big time scores, and one player whose name stands out at the top right now is Jake Cody, who is a poker pro from the UK. While deals for online poker sites’ “poker pros” have been tough to come by lately, Cody has recently signed a pretty big deal with a well known site.

Cody has signed a sponsorship deal with the online poker site PKR, and will be a part of their professional roster. PKR is widely considered to have one of the best professional poker lineups in the game today, and adding Cody to this roster will just create more chatter about that. This online poker site has gained popularity over the past year, mainly thanks to its innovative software, including their 3D graphics for online poker play. What is interesting about the addition of Cody to Team PKR, is that while many of their online poker pros aren’t well-known; Cody being added gives the team the recognition that they have lacked in the past. PKR’s players are all strong cash game players, mixed with excellent tournament players as well. They include the likes of Vladimir “Beyne” Geskenbein, Sascha “locodice” Walter, James “james666” Sudworth, Marc “Waswini” Barillier, Sofia “wellbet” Lovgren, and a World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winner Scott “PKR_Scott” Shelley.

Cody will play a big role in the online poker sites growth in the coming years, as he will help build the media content on the site with videos, and he will also be interacting with the players through their site. Of course, one thing that many poker players and fans will notice is that he will be wearing the Team PKR colors at any live tournaments or international events. The action for Cody will start soon, as he’ll be up against fellow PKR players in the Sunday “Bounty Day” tournaments this weekend.

Cody has risen to the top of the game of poker lately, and he is only 22 years old. He recently become one of only four players in the game to capture the Triple Crown in poker. This consists of winning a World Series of Poker gold bracelet, a European Poker Tour championship, and a World Poker Tour event. The three events that he won were the EPT Deauville, the WPT London, and the WSOP $25k Heads Up Championship event.

As you can tell from his resume, he is definitely becoming a fan favorite over a short period of time. From the point when he began his live tournament career, he has pulled in four wins, eight final tables, and seven teen cashes. Probably even more impressive than any of these stats above, is the fact that he has won $2.87 million in only two years of play!
