  • More Big Full Tilt Poker News

Full Tilt Poker seems to be everywhere with the relaunch coming up within the next month. The site’s rise from the ashes is one that is being followed by almost every poker player in the game today, and while this site was one of the top two largest online poker sites back in their prime, they are ready to get things rolling yet again. The newest bit of news to come out of the Full Tilt Poker front is that they have brought on two more big named professional players to go along with them in Tom “durrrr” Dwan, and also Viktor “Isildur1” Blom. Dwan and Blom are now joining up with another big named player in Gus Hansen, who will be some of the biggest names for the new Full Tilt Poker.

Dwan was actually a part of Full Tilt Poker back before the online poker site was hit by Black Friday, and he is known all over, including in places like Las Vegas also. He’s been on some of the more popular television shows to go along with his strong poker play such as “High Stakes Poker” and “Poker After Dark” as well. Dwan started with the online poker game, and then moved it to live tournaments and after a 4th place finish at the World Poker Tour’s World Poker Finals, where he won close to $325k, he was ready to roll in the live tournaments. He brought in some other big scores and then was a part of a huge multi-player bracelet bet at the World Series of Poker in 2010. He ended up falling short by just a second place finish in a $1,500 No Limit event of winning this race.

As far as Blom goes, he randomly jumped into the online poker world back in 2009, and was instantly popular. He came out of nowhere to find himself playing at the high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker night in and night out, but the best part about it is that no one had any idea who this player was. He was known by his screen name on Full Tilt “Isildur1”, and he was actually a part of playing in the ten largest pots in the history of online poker. For those who are curious, he won four of those pots for a massive $3.5 million through them. It was found out who he was in 2011 when PokerStars made an announcement at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) that they had decided to sign “Isildur1” who came out as being Viktor Blom. He was with the site until August of 2012, but no one knew exactly why he left, but some felt he would sign with Full Tilt when they got the site relaunched. Blom won two of the first three PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) events this year, which made him even more of a household name.

New Rewards System at Full Tilt

Full Tilt has also decided that they are going to be launching a new rewards system for their players as well. The new system is going to feature a few different things, but a few things that were noticed included the 27 percent rakeback that players were getting before will be gone. The Iron Man promotion is gone also, but Full Tilt has replaced these with a few different things. They are not going to be telling all of the different promotions just yet though, but there were a good number of different aspects of it given out to the public.

For starters you’ll notice that the affiliate-paid rakeback is going to be gone, and instead will have weekly cash reward payments awarded to players. This is basically going to be rakeback, but something that is done internally through the site. The payments that players are going to get will depend on how many FTP points that players get throughout the week, and the numbers are going to max out at $2.50 for every 100 points that you earn. The cash rewards being given out based on FTP points means that they are going to be awarded by the Weighted Contributed method, instead of the Dealt Method, which is what Full Tilt Poker had been in the past.

For the Black Card players at Full Tilt Poker, the Black Card will be coming back to Full Tilt during the relaunch, but possibly not right away. There haven’t been all of the details given out yet, but it is going to be different than the past. Any player who ends up at the top tier of the new loyalty system can take advantage of the Black Card store, and apparently it is going to be easier to hit than the Black Card was.
