While we just had a final winner of the Main Event of the PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), the attention would typically shift to the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). Of course, that won’t be happening this year as Full Tilt is currently in a mess of their own. Attention would now shift to the World Series of Poker Main Event’s final table, but one of the largest online poker sites out there today, Party Poker, has decided to start their own online poker tournament series. This event will be called the Pokerfest, and will kick off in the last week of October.

Party Poker floats between being the second and third largest online poker site out there today, and one of their largest competitors is PokerStars, who created the WCOOP. This could be an idea to compete with PokerStars, but it is also an excellent idea that should draw quite a bit of traffic and attention from the online poker world.

Pokerfest will run from October 23rd to November 6th, and has an impressive $3 million guaranteed in prize pools, and will be spread out over a total of 47 different events. The days will typically feature three events each day of the week, but the tournaments will have different buy-in’s that cater to different levels of players. The lowest level will be the Party Point buy-in tournaments (which is Party Poker’s loyalty program for players), and then there are also mid-level buy-in events, that will range between $6 and $33. The largest events that will be offered will go between $55 and $1,060 buy-in’s, with most of the events being on the lower end of that range.

Each tournament that features a buy-in of more than $55 will have satellites offered for them. And the satellites for the events will start as low as $1, and will be offered for all different guaranteed events in the top buy-in level. Some of the events that will stick out to players start right at Event #1 with the $215 No Limit Hold’em $300k guarantee, Event #23 with a $215 No Limit Hold’em $350k guarantee, Event #46 with a $33 No Limit Hold’em $50k guarantee, and the $640 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event that offers a $1 million guarantee.

Another bonus that is offered for players is the three Pokerfest leaderboards that will be updated constantly. The leaderboards will be broken down into the low limit buy-ins (points), mid level buy-ins, and high buy-in’s, and players will earn additional points for how they finish and how many events they are able to win in each buy-in bracket. The prize pool for the points buy-in will be $5k with a first place prize of $500, the mid buy-in level will have a $30k prize pool with a first place prize of $2,500, and the highest level buy-in bracket will have a $65k prize pool with a $5,000 first place prize.

There will also be additional side bonuses offered for players, with the largest one being the $20k prize that will go to the first player to win three Pokerfest events. Party Poker will also pay out $10k to the first person to reach the final table of an event ten total times, and $5k to the player who cashes at least ten events.
