  • Party Poker Players to Earn Spots at Sports Stars Challenge

Online poker room, Party Poker, has brought back their Sports Stars Challenge and this year online players will have the chance to compete in the televised event. Party Poker began running free rolls for players to qualify in the sports heat of their choosing back in March and this week the top ten from each free roll will be competing to earn their spot on the show.

The event is scheduled to take place from May 29th to June 1st and the event will be taped for filming. The top two winners of this week’s finals will earn a package to attend the Sports Star Challenge. The winning players will be able to test their skills against several sports stars including: Sven Ottke and Martin Rogan – the boxers, Ronald De Boer, Frank Leboeuf and Jan Molby- the football players, Giancarlo Fisichella the Formula 1 driver as well as Phil Taylor, Graeme McDowell, Andy Goode, Agnieszka Rylik and Thomas Helmer.

This is the first time that Party Poker players will be able to compete in the Sports Challenge and they will be competing against stars in darts, golf, motor sports, boxing, football and rugby. The online winners will have the opportunity to show the world their poker skills as the Challenge will be aired all over the world. So not only will the online winners get to compete against the Sports Stars but they could also gain fame themselves by being seen on television.
The overall winner of this week’s heats will earn a £20,000 while second and third place wins £10,000 and £5,000 respectively. The competitors of the Challenge will be playing for a piece of the $84,000 prize pool.
