PartyPoker’s Pokerfest II Set to Kick Off This WeekendThursday, April 19th, 2012 by Ryan
When it comes to online poker tournament series’, many online poker networks have put together different sets of series that have gotten some solid response from the online poker world, but only a few have compared to the type of response that the Party Poker Pokerfest received last time it was ran. So since it did well last time, why not go for a round two right? Party Poker agrees, and has decided to run the Pokerfest II due to the rave reviews that it received, and it is set to kickoff starting this weekend, on Sunday specifically. The idea for the tournament series was created to run similar to things that PokerStars runs such as the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), and the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), both of which are incredibly popular.
The newest version of the Pokerfest is going to have over $3.5 million in total prize pools awarded to their players, and it will be spread out over 47 different tournaments from the 22nd of April to the 6th of May. The first action starting on the 22nd will feature four No Limit Hold’em events, and the largest event will be the Main Event which takes place on the 6th. The Main Event is going to feature a $1 million prize pool and has a $640 buy-in. The series won’t stick to only No Limit Hold’em events either though, as they will also offer Pot Limit Omaha events and Fixed Limit Hold’em events also. If you are looking for more than just a standard tournament as well, you’ll find that their speed tournaments, re-buy’s, and deep stack events could be right up your alley.
Probably the best part of the Pokerfest II is that the buy-in’s for the tournaments definitely won’t break the bank. If you are a more recreational poker player then you’ll find that you can buy-in to events for as little as a few PartyPoints to specific tournaments. Most of the buy-in’s for the tournaments will range between about $11 and $99 though, showing that they are definitely affordable for all levels, and will offer some great payouts. The largest buy-in offered out of all of the tournaments will be the event for $1,060 which is well suited for the high stakes players on the site!
There are also some additional jackpots that will be offered on top of the prize money, which range all the way up to $20k, and a $14,000 prize package to the World Series of Poker this year for anyone who is able to take down three of the events that are offered. Players can also win $15k and an iPad for final tabling any ten tournaments, $7,500 and an iPad for final tabling five tournaments, $5k and an iPad for finishing in the money in 20 events, and $2,500 and an iPad for anyone who finishes in the money in any ten events. There will also be a leaderboard contest running which is broken down into tournaments that cost PartyPoints to buy-in to, tournaments that cost between $6 and $33, and ones that cost $55 and higher. The prize pool for the points learderboard is $2,500, the one for the lower buy-in board has a prize pool of $15k, and the higher end leaderboard has a prize pool of $32,500.
