Apparently everyone was taking a break this past weekend from partying as the holidays and New Year have just finished up. Poker players resumed their positions at their favorite online poker rooms and PokerStars.com was no exception. Both the Sunday Warm-Up and the Sunday Million saw great turnouts and increased prize pools.

The Sunday Warm-Up is a $200 plus 15 tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $750,000. With 4,809 players competing, the prize pool was increased by $211,800 which created a total prize pool of $961,800 and paid out to 720 players.

The top two prizes were both six figures so the top two players knew they were earning a nice payday. Both looshle and Chris1804 were the online players left competing in heads up play for the top prize. After some time Chris1804 would have the chip lead and both players would end up all in. the cards were in his favor and Chris1804 would knock out looshle in second place to take home the just over $150,000 first place prize.

Final Results:

Chris1804 – $150,457
looshle – $112,050
P0ker D0h – $79,349
mariano185 – $54,342
BFITM17 – $40,877
Slambamiel – $31,259
coroco75 – $21,641
WacKyJaxon – $12,023

The Sunday Million was no different this past weekend. The tournament has a buy-in of $200 plus 15 and offers a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. This past weekend 8,900 players entered the tournament and created a prize pool of $1,780,000 which was an increase of $280,000. 1,350 spots were paid with first place earning the only prize in the $200,000s.
In this tournament the top three spots would earn the six figure paydays so if you managed to get in the top three you would earn a big payout. Copernic67, latouche83 and uyra99 would make it to three way play but not long after copernic67 would be knocked out in third place. This would leave latouch83 and uyra99 to compete in heads up play. After some time uyra99 would make a move and it would be the right decision as latouche83 did not have the cards to hold up his hand. Uyra99 would earn the $254,000+ payday.

Final Results:

uyra99 – $254,184
latouche83 – $186,900
copernic67 – $132,521
