November has been an exciting month for poker fans and players alike. Pius Heinz, a 22 year old poker pro from Germany, signed up with PokerStars to be part of its team. In addition to acquiring Heinz, PokerStars is also geared up to celebrate its 10th anniversary on December 18th.
Heinz Signs Up for Team PokerStars
Recently, PokerStars announced that it had acquired a team member– Pius Heinz, a November Niner and German poker professional who will soon compete for his first WSOP bracelet along with $8.7 million at the WSOP main event finals.
Heinz (22) is an up and coming star in the game. He has more than $700,000 in winnings from online tournaments and more than $100,000 earned in live play. He qualified for his first final table game at WSOP at a $1,500 event and continued to do well at the main event. Heinz will begin his game at the final table in 7th place in chips and is guaranteed approximately $782,000 for qualifying as a member of the November Nine.
Heinz said that he was pretty relaxed about the game though he knows there are a lot of tough players still in the running. He is confident he can win. He said that joining PokerStars has given him an extra lift and that he is looking forward to being a part of its team.
He will be joining the ranks of players like Sebastian Ruthenberg, Sandra Naujoks and Boris Becker as one of the representatives of the team from Germany. According to Naujoks, Pius has all the necessary qualities to be a great poker player. The team is hoping that he will win at the final table. Naujoks said that she is excited that yet another top player is joining Team PokerStars.
Celebrating 10 Years of PokerStars
On December 18th, it will have been 10 years since Poker Stars.net first opened its doors to players of the game the world over. It is planning to celebrate with gusto by hosting many new offers featuring millions of dollars.
A range of promotions will be added over the next few weeks. However, currently, a hefty $10 million guarantee has been made for the Sunday Million, along with great give-aways of PokerStars Caribbean Adventure packages. This is the largest Sunday Million that has ever been offered by the site and is sure to bring in many players.
The buy-in for the game remains the same as before, $215, making it even more exciting for players. The first ever Sunday million was played in March, 2006 and since then, it has become one of the world’s most popular weekly tournaments. It is seen as one of the most prestigious tournaments.
In honor of their 10th anniversary, PokerStars will be giving away a 100 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure packages. Each package is valued at $15,000 and features a $10,000 buy-in for the main event as well as accommodation at a luxury hotel and other expenses. PokerStars is holding a Free-to-Play qualifier game every 10 minutes. The 10 top ranked players at these qualifiers will be allowed to compete at the PCA finals (weekly).
