  • PokerStars Sunday May 15, 2011 Tournament Report

    Monday, May 16th, 2011 by t2admin

Poker Stars is still running the SCOOP, so the guaranteed tournaments on Sunday have been changed for the time being. The prize pools in the guaranteed tournaments weren’t what you’d expect from PokerStars, but it also meant that players had a better chance to earn a big payday, as the playing fields were much smaller than usual. The SCOOP series has been doing pretty good considering the circumstances and PokerStars has been offering up plenty of great satellites everyday.

PokerStars Sunday 500

• Entrants – 524 / Prize Pool – $262,000

The PokerStars Sunday 500 was the biggest scheduled tournament this past Sunday at Poker Stars and the prize pool ended up barely making it over the $250K Guarantee. No players made a deal in the tourney due to the smaller than usual prize pool this weekend. Itzlingerass won just under $50K for winning the Sunday 500 this week, which is a big payday considering the prize pool was only $262K. Steve3331 earned $35K for his 2nd place finishing in the tournament and B4d3m3!st3r took home $26K for finishing the PokerStars Sunday 500 in 3rd.

PokerStars Big $109

• Entrants – 1912 / Prize Pool – $191,200

The PokerStars hosted the Big $109 again this week and it was definitely a success. The poker tournament only had a $50K Guarantee, but by the end of registration the prize pool surpassed $191K. Matiko09 finished the tournament in 1st place and won $33K after outlasting everyone else in the event. Nark0s earned just under $25K for taking down 2nd place and SIBL666 rounded up the top three in the Big $109 this past Sunday, which earned SIBL666 just under $20K. No deals were made in the tournament this week even though the prize pool was almost 4x the guaranteed amount.

PokerStars Sunday 2nd Chance

• Entrants – 615 / Prize Pool – $125,000

The PokerStars 2nd Chance had an overlay this week and offered the best value to participants. Only 615 entered the event and it didn’t take that long to play out due to the small playing field. Ben Richardson won 1st place in the 2nd Chance at PokerStars and won about $23K for his efforts. ConSlice won $17K this weekend for finishing the PokerStars 2nd Chance in 2nd place and JeankeNissan took home just under $13K for taking down 3rd place in the event. The payouts weren’t that big, but considering there was an overlay it was the best tournament to play in this Sunday at PokerStars.
