  • PokerStars Sunday August 14th 2011 Tournament Report

    Monday, August 15th, 2011 by t2admin

PokerStars was packed this weekend and four poker players ended up adding over $100,000 to their bankrolls. 3 of the players that won $100K were in the Sunday Million and the other player that won six-figures played in the Sunday Warm-Up. This week there were no deals in any of the three major tournaments at PokerStars and this is actually quite rare. There aren’t too many weeks where there isn’t a deal made in at least one of the Sunday Majors.

PokerStars Sunday Million

• Entrants – 6525 / Prize Pool – $1,305,000

The PokerStars Sunday Million was packed this weekend and the prize pool broke the $1.3M barrier by a few grand. Even with the massive prize pool, the players in the tournament didn’t end up making a deal. Joao Aquino ended up winning the event this weekend and won just shy of $200K, which is one of the better paydays in recent memory. KMichael14 took home $146K for finishing the Sunday Million in 2nd place and Trung Tran won just over $100K for 3rd place.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up

• Entrants – 3241 / Prize Pool – $648,200

The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up had a nice prize pool this weekend and there were several big names looking to finish atop of the leaderboard. Owen Crowe ended up being one of the big names chasing the title down this week and he ended up winning the tournament and cashing for just over $100K. Assalbi took home $75K for finishing the Sunday Warm-Up in 2nd place and last, but not least, Milana Jones finished in 3rd place and won $53K. There were a few big names in the Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up that ended up finishing in the top 3.

PokerStars Sunday 500

• Entrants – 767 / Prize Pool – $383,500

The PokerStars Sunday 500 even grew this weekend, which was great to see. There weren’t any big live events and that’s why I’m sure more high-stakes players were online looking for their tournament fix. Just like the other major tourneys this week, there wasn’t a deal made in the Sunday 500. Rizih won $69K for finishing 1st place, G8h5 won $49K for finishing in 2nd place and Dimka19881 won $37K for finishing in 3rd place. This isn’t the 1st time we’ve seen Rizih finish atop one of the Sunday Majors and I’m sure we’ll see a lot more from Rizih in the future as well.
