  • PokerStars Sunday August 28th 2011 Tournament Report

    Monday, August 29th, 2011 by t2admin

This was the last weekend of the Sunday Majors before the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker. Traffic was up in the major tournaments this week and I’m expecting big playing fields once the WCOOP kicks-off in September. This week there was a deal made in the Sunday Million and the Sunday Warm-Up, but the Sunday 500 didn’t have a deal. Since there was a huge deal in the Sunday Warm-Up noone ended up winning 6-figures in the tournament.

PokerStars Sunday Million

• Entrants – 6624 / Prize Pool – $1,324,800

The playing field in the PokerStars Sunday Million grew a bit this week and I think it’s because players are gearing up for the popular WCOOP series that begins shortly at PokerStars. This week 3 players ended up cutting a deal in the tournament and they all ended up making close to the same. NhPokah took home $141K for winning the Sunday Million, but that was less than the other two players because NhPokah had fewer chips when the deal was made. LEXER1986 won $152K for finishing in 2nd place and Bostero10 won the most for finishing in 3rd place ($162K).

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up

• Entrants – 3161 / Prize Pool – $632,200

It isn’t often that we see a deal with more than 3 players, but this week there was a 5-way deal in the Poker Stars Download Sunday Warm-Up. The reason it’s rare to see such a big deal is because there is usually always a player that would rather play it out and go for the bigger payday. WATnIos finished the tournament in 1st place ($60K), Doroshev G finished in 2nd place ($66K), Luwis finished in 3rd place ($49K), Vasil1976197 finished in 4th place ($72K) and SirMoonMann finished in 5th place ($39K). Vasil1976197 had a nice lead when the deal was made, but he squandered his chips quickly after the deal.

PokerStars Sunday 500

• Entrants – 755 / Prize Pool – $377,500

The PokerStars Sunday 500 is always a great tournament that features a stacked field. Last week Mike Dietrich finished the event in 2nd place and this week he managed to finish in 4th place, which was worth $27K. Milana Jones finished the event in 1st place this week and won $68K. Fabian Quoss won $49K for taking down 2nd place in the PokerStars Sunday 500 and BtheWinner ending up winning $36K for taking down 3rd place in the last Sunday 500 before the WCOOP begins.
