  • PokerStars Sunday Majors Have New Starting Times

    Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 by t2admin

PokerStars announced this Monday that they’d be changing the times that the Sunday Majors start. The tournaments used to draw in thousands of players from the United States every weekend. Since Black Friday the tournaments on Sunday have shrunk quite a bit and PokerStars is hoping to attract more players by changing the starting times of the Sunday Majors. The fact that the times are changing for the Sunday Majors isn’t that big of news, but this weekend only the prize pools will be doubled.

• PokerStars Sunday Kick-Off – 8:00 ET – Prize Pool Doubled to $150,000
• PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up – 11:00 ET – Prize Pool Doubled to $1,000,000

Most of the tournaments will be starting two hours earlier now on Sundays at PokerStars although some of the events were changed by more than 2 hours, so make sure you follow the starting times listed above. You definitely don’t want to miss out on the double prize pools this Sunday (June 5th) at PokerStars, as I expect there may be a couple nice overlays. The major events won’t I doubt, but the smaller guaranteed events may end up having nice overlays.

Poker stars is also handing out thousands of dollars worth of free seats this week while leading up to the doubled guaranteed prize pool tournaments. Make sure you check out the list of satellites in the PokerStars lobby. Earning a seat into the events this weekend will be a lot easier than most due to the added satellites. It should also be noted that the Monday Omaha and Super Tuesday tournaments will be taking place 3-hours earlier than normal from now on.

With nearly $5 million up for grabs in guaranteed money this Sunday at PokerStars it should be extremely busy. If you don’t have a PokerStars account you can sign-up today and earn a $600 bonus on your 1st deposit, which will give you plenty of money to enter some of the doubled Sunday Majors this weekend. The prize pools are only doubled on June 5th and then they’ll be back to normal, so make sure you try playing this Sunday if you have the time.
