  • PokerStars Sunday March 6th 2011 Tournament Report

    Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 by t2admin

Last week we told you guys that PokerStars would be celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Sunday Million. If you missed the event you definitely missed one of the most exciting online poker tournaments to ever take place. Not only was the Sunday Million huge, but the rest of the major tournaments at PokerStars this Sunday saw a slight increase in players as well. There was nearly $15M in prize money to be won this past Sunday between the three major tournaments, which is more than we’ve ever seen.

PokerStars Sunday 500

• Entrants – 1532 / Prize Pool – $766,000

The PokerStars Sunday 500 was the smallest tournament out of the three majors, but it still had a prize pool of $766K to split with the top players, which is above average for the Sunday 500. Even though the prize pool was bigger than usual, there were no deals made this week in the tournament. ManiacRazor outlasted the rest of the competition this week and won over $122K plus the bragging rights of winning such a huge MTT. Greenstone25 won over $90K this Sunday for finishing in 2nd place and SaU_KRIS won roughly $68K for taking down 3rd place in the 1st PokerStars Sunday 500 of March 2011.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up

• Entrants – 6154 / Prize Pool – $1,230,800

This week the Sunday Warm-Up at PokerStars net was bigger than it usually is and that’s definitely because there was a lot of buzz about the PokerStars Sunday Million anniversary promotion. With over $1.2M up for grabs yesterday in this tournament I was a little bit surprised when there wasn’t a deal made between the final few players in the event. FlipFlopUK was the lone player to outlast everyone else and for winning the event FlipFlopUK received $187K. Legadzo won 2nd place after losing the heads-up battle, but Legadzo still walked away from the Sunday Warm-Up with $138K. Thilde_123 rounded up the top three this weekend and won just shy of $100K, which is way more than 3rd place usually makes in this event.

PokerStars Sunday Million

• Entrants – 59,128 / Prize Pool – $11,825,600

As we mentioned, PokerStars was celebrating the 5th anniversary of the PokerStars Sunday Million tournament. There was a huge playing field of nearly 60,000 players in the tournament, which bumped the prize pool past the eight-figure mark for the 1st time in the history of the event. With so much money on the line the entire final table decided to cut a deal based on the current chip stacks at the time and it ensured everyone won over a quarter million dollars. Below is a list of how each of the nine players ended up finishing in the event starting with the winner Luke Vrabel.

• Luke Vrabel – $671K + Lamborghini
• SheppyShape – $465K
• Wrzr123 – $844K
