  • PokerStars Sunday October 2nd 2011 Tournament Report

    Monday, October 3rd, 2011 by t2admin

September wasn’t the best month at PokerStars if you enjoy playing in the Sunday Majors. Many of the biggest Sunday Majors were cancelled during the month of September due to the World Championship of Online Poker. The PokerStars WCOOP is now complete and the Sunday Majors are now back in full swing at PokerStars. The Sunday Million had an average prize pool and there was no sign of an increase, but I expect the numbers to grow as the weather continues to get colder. The kick-off to October was great at PokerStars and I expect big numbers in the Sunday Majors this winter.

PokerStars Sunday Million

• Entrants – 6593 / Prize Pool – $1,318,600

Just over 6500 players participated in the Sunday Million this weekend at PokerStars and the prize pool reached over $1.3M, which is about average for this event. There were no deals made in the tournament, as everyone was looking to pocket the full 1st place prize for themselves this weekend. Marcel Bjerkmann ended up winning 1st place in the Sunday Million and won the 1st place prize of just over $200,000. Marcel just won a WCOOP Bracelet about a week ago and now is $200K richer. I7AXA won $148K for finishing in 2nd place and GlitchHopper won $105K for taking down 3rd place in the Sunday Million.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up

• Entrants – 3249 / Prize Pool – $649,800

No deal was made in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up this week either, which is rare. There was a slight increase in attendance in the tournament and I’m sure the extra money in the prize pool was a welcome addition for the winners. Schweinix won 1st place in the Sunday Warm-Up and earned $102K. BoomBoomX won $76K for earning a 2nd place finish in the event and 3rd place ended up going to JohnyK91 this week, which was worth $53K.

PokerStars Sunday 500

• Entrants – 716 / Prize Pool – $358,000

The Sunday 500 has a huge buy-in and that ensures that only the best of the best online poker players play in this tournament on a weekly basis. The prize pool is always huge considering the small playing field and there is always a chance to be playing with a popular poker pro at the tables. Veronica Dabul won $64K for winning the Sunday 500 this weekend, Alexander Debus won $46K for his 2nd place finish and Cappu82 won $34K for 3rd place in the Sunday 500 at PokerStars.
