PokerStars Weekend Tournament Results
Despite the FTOPS XIII currently taking place, PokerStars managed to see a really good turnout for their weekend tournaments. Both the Sunday Warm-Up and the Sunday Million had increased prize pools and very large numbers of players.
The Sunday Warm-Up has a buy-in of $200 plus 15 and offers a guaranteed prize pool of $750k. but with 4,090 players registering the guaranteed prize pool rose to $818,000 paying out to 585 spots. This gave first and second place a nice large prize of $128,426 and $95,706 respectively.
Online player’s hwtd1 and mellowGold11 would have to face each other in heads up play and both wanted the larger first place prize. play would be tough but once mellowGold11 gained the chip lead there was no looking back. On the final hand mellowGold11 made a move and eliminated hwtd1 from the competition and earned the large first place prize.
Final Results:
mellowGold11 – $128,426
