The world of popular live poker tours in the world today is now expanding a bit more, as there will be two poker tours that are going to be running on the high seas. These are definitely two of the more well-known poker tours out there today as well, as it will include the Heartland Poker Tour, and the World Poker Tour as well. The action will start with the Heartland poker Tour’s event that will run from January 19th to January 26th in 2013. The event will be held on the MSC Poesia, which will take sail in Florida out of Fort Lauderdale and will make multiple different stops in different locations such as Cozumel, Mexico, Honduras, the Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica as well.

The event will be called the HPT on the High Seas series and will offer different things for the players who travel on the cruise ship. There will be a welcome party for any player as well as farewell parties also, and on top of that there will be a 40 seat poker room that is on the ship. There are going to be different cash games run on the cruise ship, as well as seminars and qualifiers for the tournament as well. Now, when it comes to the Main Event with the $1,100 buy-in, it will be held on the ship as well. There will also be satellites called the “Sunday Ship It” which are going to go throughout the remainder of 2012 in order to get more players onto the ship and into the action as well! You’ll find that the satellites start at as little as $100 and will award packages that are worth $2k that will get two people on the trip. If you are looking to get in on the satellites they will begin this month on the 15th at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.

The second tournament series that will take place on the high seas is the World Poker Tour event that will start out at the Caribbean, but will not be an official tour stop. This event will be called the “World Poker Tour Cruise” and it will run from the 30th of September to October 7th. You’ll find that the two popular hosts of the World Poker Tour Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten will also be on the cruise and that there will be different cash games, a ladies poker tournament, a freeroll, and different sit-n-go’s running as well over the length of the cruise. This tour will stop at locations such as Mexico, Jamaica, the Grand Cayman Islands, and also a private beach in Haiti that is just for the Royal Caribbean.

As far as those players who are looking to turn it into more of a family vacation, you’ll find that there will also be a different things like a water park on the cruise ship, a rock wall, and also a Spa and different adult entertainment as well. Both of these events will be great ways to take a nice vacation and get some time away from the real world, but still be able to play the game of poker and get in on the action of the big poker tours.
