Poker Terms Glossary - Buy-In

The amount of money it costs to play in a poker tournament. Also, the amount of money required to enter some ring games. The “buy-in” is usually expressed as two numbers. For example, ifthebuy-in for a pokertournament is $50+5 then the total buy-in is $55. $50 goes towards the tournament prize pool and $5 goes to the house.
